LuMin Grab and Go Lunch

Date: 13 Sep 2026 From: 9:30 am until 12:30 pm
Grab-and-go lunches are provided for IU students at 9:30 and 12:30 (after each church service). Volunteers bring 12-15 individually packaged items for various categories. The food that students take home often goes in their backpacks during the week; we hope it also reminds them of how much our congregation cares about them.

Join a Committee

Many committees have opportunities for volunteers. A few of them are by selection only.

Christian Education — This committee oversee the activities of all educational organizations within the congregation in the interests of lifelong Christian Education. This shall be accomplished by:

Worship — The committee assists the Congregation Council in seeing that the services of God’s house are conducted regularly and within the liturgical traditions of the Lutheran church, that assisting ministers are recruited and trained to serve, and that Service books and devotional materials are provided and properly cared for. It arranges for the care of paraments, vestments, and musical instruments. It sees that a nursery for pre-kindergarten age children is established, staffed, and supplied as needed during worship services.

Property — This committee sees to the proper maintenance and protection of all property of the congregation and takes care that all is kept in good order and repair. This committee establishes, and periodically reviews, guidelines and appropriate payment schedules for the use of all property of the congregation for approval by the Congregation Council. This committee prepares, and annually reviews, a prioritized list of major needs in the areas of facilities, grounds, furnishings, and equipment, which is reported annually to the Congregation Council. There are regular work days; check the calendar.

Creation Care — Always seeking new ways to honor creation, heal the Earth, reduce waste, live more simply, reduce energy usage, produce clean energy, and build resilient, sustainable community.

Sing with the Choir

The Adult Choir helps to lead worship by encouraging the congregation in offering prayer, praise, and thanksgiving to the glory of God. Choir members aren’t performers, they are leaders of musical ministry, sharing in the liturgy with high musical standards and selections drawn from the broad heritage of the church. The choir is also a place of mutual support, spiritual enrichment, and fellowship among its members. This labor of love is offered with the hope of inspiring the congregation to reflect more deeply upon the weekly readings and the rhythms of the liturgical year. We welcome new singers – this is a no-audition choir!

Check the calendar for rehearsal times. Contact the church office for more information or email choir@stlconline.org

Join a Group

There is a Monday Bible Study led by the Pastor. Check the calendar for times.
